ICONLive P302/P303 Error

ICONLive Connection Error – Missing Parameter File (P302/P303)

Some users may see an error similar to the one shown below when attempting to connect their vehicle to the ICONLive software.

This error typically occurs when the version of ICONLive installed on your computer is older than the firmware/software currently installed on the vehicle controller.

When ICONLive connects to a controller, it first queries the controller to determine which parameter index file (VarTable) is required. The software then looks for that file in its local Data folder. If the required parameter file is not present, the software will display an error stating it cannot find the .xls file.

The error message will usually indicate the exact parameter file the controller is requesting, commonly P302 or P303.

Why this happens

This simply means the installed version of ICONLive does not include the newer parameter files required for that controller.

How to fix it

Download the missing parameter file & Back up file - both need to be in the Data folder, or latest version of ICONLive.

TFW-P0302_VarTable.xls
TFW-P0302_VarTable_Bak.xls

TFW-P0303_VarTable.xls
TFW-P0303_VarTable_Bak.xls

TFW-P0304_VarTable.xls
TFW-P0304_VarTable_Bak.xls

Note: It is not necessary to download both files—you only need the parameter file that your controller is requesting. The exact filename will be shown in the error message (commonly P302 or P303).

However, if you regularly connect to multiple vehicles, it may be helpful to download both parameter files so they are already available in case you encounter a controller that requires the other version.

Copy the missing .xls parameter file(s) into the software’s Data directory. Do Not rename the files.

Typical location:
C:\ICONLIVE\Data\

The exact folder path and filename the software is expecting will also be shown directly in the error message.

Once the correct parameter file is placed in the Data folder, restart ICONLive and reconnect to the vehicle. The software should then load the correct parameter table and connect normally.
